Games and Sports

We, Delhi Public School Bhimavaram, believe that games and sports are an integral part of the academic journey. School throws a light on the development of knowledge, attitudes and skills related to physical and health related activities. A range of activities are listed below:

1. Skating

Skating can help improve a child’s balance and coordination. Skating is great for cardiovascular health – it gets blood pumping and the heart rate up. The school has a 200 meter fast roller skating rink with eight layered synthetic finish. Events like Speed Skating, Artistic Skating, Roller Hockey, Inline Hockey, Inline Freestyle, Alpine Skating, Downhill Skating, Roller Derby and Freestyle Roller Skating. National coaches are appointed to train the children in both morning and evening sessions.

2. Archery

The sport of archery requires precision, control and focus. Archery gets you active and in a better state of mind. The school also provides Mounted Archery training for the students so that they can hone their skills at shooting arrows riding on the horse. The school has well maintained equipment for archery with a National coach to take care of archers.

3. Horse riding

The school provides a wonderful opportunity for equestrian sport. We have a vast riding arena for training. Qualified instructors cum jockeys will be a vital part in training the students. The skills learned are displayed during special events at school, and students also take part in competitions held in and around the state and at national levels.

4. Basketball

The school has two finest outdoor synthetic basketball courts with dressing rooms. It allows students to comfortably take part in the game with true competitive spirit. Various inter-school basketball competitions are held in our school

5. Tennis

The school provides a place to improve metabolic functioning of the body. Two synthetic tennis courts sprawl on the campus with all the required equipment. An experienced coach trains the students.

6. Swimming

Swimming is one of the few activities which enhance strength, flexibility and overall fitness of students. We are proud to say that we have a ten lane swimming pool with international standards. Qualified coaches impart training to the students and maintain operational facilities. A baby pool is designed for little children to play and learn.

7. Badminton

The school has two synthetic indoor badminton courts. Students come forward in the evening for practice sessions. It keeps them physically fit and mentally strong.

8. Rifle shooting

The school has one of the finest rifle shooting range training facilities in the state. Indoor 10m shooting ranges with 10 lanes and electrically operated targets are safely installed. Qualified coaches provides training to their students with utmost safety.

9. Chess

Chess training and practice support the development of higher-order thinking skills—problem solving, decision making, etc. The school has a Guinness Book record of an international grandmaster Girinath playing with 108 students of our school simultaneously.

10. Karate

Karate training develops agility, strength and speed, allowing for fast and effective techniques while also improving muscle tone and endurance. Our students participated and won eight medals in national level competitions across the country. Our qualified coach trains the students, to bring out the best in them and to make them self-dependent.

11. Yoga

Yoga is one that recognizes ways to enhance the state of our mind and body. The school provides wonderful opportunities to practise Yoga. It is a great place for relaxation activity that increases their attention span, and improves concentration. Regular Yoga lessons and training are provided by qualified trainers.
